Hello! I’m on the wagon!

Forgive the plainness, I am not a web designer.

Hello! I am AS Doodlz, a queer zinester and wannabe comic artist. Emphasis *heavily* on the wannabe. Not sure how to describe my style, but imagine if vomit clocks were made with digital texture brushes, clashing colors, markers, and desperation, and you’d be close. I’m working on it, I swear, I’ve heard of editing on TV somewhere. 

This is the first comic I’ve ever done about my addiction and it started as a piece of sh!t on Reddit that garnered a lot of genuine concern for some crappy drawings and a quick musing on relapse. I was amazed at the support I’d gotten and wanted to continue the project and never did out of embarrassment, but this is embarrassing stuff and someone has to do it and apparently I have no shame and too much time on my hands, so why not me?

I don’t just want to talk about my addictions, I also create diary comics which I will post, in traditional media as well, and I have a dream of a long form comic about trauma as black magic (I know, I dunno how it’s gonna work either, we’ll see).  But The Wagon specifically is about my experiences with dependence and abuse and addiction and experience with other addicts and drugs, it just won’t be my sole focus.

I really hope to connect and help others feel less embarrassed and less alone through my work, something that’s helped me that I want to pay forward.
